Grammy Awards 2023: Kendrick Lamar domina la categoria rap

Si è tenuta questa notte alla Crypto Arena di Los Angeles la cerimonia dei Grammy Awards 2023: andiamo a vedere i vincitori delle categorie rap e affini e alcune delle migliori performance portate sul palco.

Kendrick Lamar si aggiudica il Best Rap Album ai Grammy Awards 2023

Non dovrebbe stupire questa vittoria – seppur contro un altro signor album come It’s Almost Dry di Pusha T – fa strano però non vederlo trionfare nella categoria più ambita, ossia Album Of The Year, a discapito come al solito di ciò che il pop predilige e che quest’anno porta il nome di Harry’s House di Harry Styles.

Tolto questo premio, che come sempre porta con sé non poche polemiche, Kendrick Lamar ha dominato il suo ambiente, portandosi a casa i grammofoni per Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song e Best Rap Performance, lasciando indietro solo la categoria Best Melodic Rap Performance che se l’è aggiudicata Future in compagnia di Drake per la traccia Wait For U.

Da sottolineare il record di Beyoncé che, con le vittorie di questa notte è diventata l’artista più premiata della storia (32 grammofoni) e, infine, la brutta reazione di Chris Brown per non aver vinto il premio come Best R&B Album, con tanto di storia Instagram in cui ha affermato “Chi c*zzo è Robert Glasper?“.

Come anticipato nelle ore precedenti alla cerimonia, c’erano due particolari performance tra le più attese ai Grammy Awards 2023.

Una era quella di God Did di Dj Khaled, perchè riportava sul palco il maestro Jay-Z assieme ad altri signori artisti come Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend e Fridayy.

La seconda, invece, è stata quella per celebrare i 50 anni dell’hip-hop. Orchestrata da Questlove, il membro dei The Roots ha fatto sì che in un colpo solo alla 65esima edizione dei Grammys salissero sul palco LL Cool J, Big Boi, De La Soul, DJ Drama, DJ Jazzy Jeff, GloRilla, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King, Ice-T, Lil Baby, The LOX, Method Man, Nelly, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rahiem, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, Spinderella, Scarface, Swizz Beatz e Too $hort.

Un bell’insieme di leggende della doppia h che, tuttavia, lascia un po’ di quel retrogusto di hip-hop washing per una kermesse che più di una volta ha dimostrato di non aver nulla a che a fare – e soprattutto di non saperne nulla al riguardo – con l’hip-hop.

È comunque da lodare la scelta di offrire a un palcoscenico così grande la performance di mostri sacri come Grandmaster Mele Me, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa e molti altri.
