Anderson .Paak ha pubblicato JEWELZ, il suo nuovo singolo in collaborazione con Timbaland.
Anderson .Paak è tornato con il suo nuovo singolo JEWELZ, co-prodotto da Timbaland. Il pezzo, annunciato due giorni prima su Instagram, arriva dopo Lockdown, brano dedicato alle vicende che ruotano intorno al fenomeno Black Lives Matter, CUT EM IN, in collaborazione con Rick Ross e il più recente YUUUU, in cui fa squadra con Busta Rhymes.
Il pezzo è una bomba funk, frutto dell’unione del genio di Timbaland e della batteria di .Paak, capace di trascinare l’ascoltatore, coinvolgerlo e scioglierlo, grazie alla voce modificata ad hoc dell’artista.
L’artista californiano ha parlato così del lavoro con Timbaland nella realizzazione del singolo:
“It’s really dope to see someone like Timbaland that comes out of that era and that can still get the keyboard and mash out a beat right there on the spot. You know what I’m saying? A lot of dudes can’t do that no more, JEWELZ’ was amazing, man. Timbaland came through, he had a bunch of ideas, he brought his son through and before we even got in the session, we was just chopping it up, having conversations and I think that’s how pretty much the song had came about. With “I ain’t even put my jewels on,” we were talking, me, him and his son about something, and I think his son had said it. Like, “We didn’t even start it yet or I ain’t get my sh-t out yet.” And I was like, “Yo, that’s it. I ain’t even put my jewels on yet. We didn’t even start yet. We just warming up.” You know what I’m saying? And Timbaland got in there.”
La speranza è che durante queste sessioni in studio i due abbiano prodotto più materiale, magari per un eventuale album dell’autore di Ventura atteso da molti e che potrebbe avere anche qualche produzione di Dr Dre, con cui è già stato in studio in passato.
